This is yet another image that I have reworked, hopefully I'll finally be happy with this version.

Something inspired by England - a country I lived in for 7 years.

I have updated my website with some work, stuff I have already posted here on my blog.

I have also done some editing, that is taken off some things that I think could be redone in a better way or just wasn't good enough. Hopefully the website will represent my work better and feel more cohesive than before. Still a lot of work to do though...

Make up... I will try to avoid pink in my next image but it is such a lovely colour.

Old idea that I have redone. I think I'm going to revisit a few older pieces that I liked at the time. 

Inspired by "old posters". The colours work well I think.

I've been in Sweden for a month and without computer an photoshop I haven't been up to much.
Warming up with my favorite subject... food!

Sort of scandinavian but with an asian twist.

Swedish crayfish parties are pretty great and soon it will be August, the season for crayfish. I love the food, crayfish boiled with a lot of dill, strong cheeses, "snapps" (alcohol with spices) and quiche... but also all the lights and moon decorations. As always you have to sing silly songs (snappsvisor) whenever you have a drink.

The textures work well I think, found some new stuff on photoshop I've never used before. I've been using more effects then usual, creating more depth.

New illustration, but I used some old elements so it was quick to make.

I have finally finished my alphabet poster.

This is what I have at the moment. I'm using a handwritten font that I think works well. Obviously there are a few components missing and other that needs to be worked on. 

I think I'll have to be careful with the composition so that it doesn't become too cluttered (unlike this which is very much so) leaving some space where needed.

Trying out some different things to see what a final image might look like.

Think the lettering placed on the images looks the best for now, although I don't like the illustrations being placed in  a straight line like that. It definitely needs to be more organic, with the images sort of "working together".

Also, I'll need to come up with a more interesting type.

These are the colours I'll be using. The images are quite simple, I think they will need to be for 29 of them to work together. But I'll have to wait and see until all of them are put together, some areas might look to bland and uninteresting whereas some could have too much happening. 

I have always wanted to do an alphabet with images but never really got around to finish more then three letters. I just visually really like little images in different colours put together on one image, where you can sort of discover things... and this time I will do all 29! 

(In Swedish we have å, ä and ö, three extra letters.)

I am sort of a fan of anthropomorphized objects and 70's boots.

I have revisited a theme with - I think - more success then before.

The theme is "fika", a tradition in Sweden which involves coffee and sweet buns and cakes, and in this instance, my interpretation of a classic "jordgubbstårta" (a strawberry and cream cake).

Just trying out some characters and animals and I love the "lightness" of a white background.

I like the softness, find my images a bit dark sometimes and I think I succeeded quite well with the print effect.

Two elements from an image that I worked really hard with but at the end wasn't happy with at all has found new life on my index page.

Quick drawing of mermaid in a sardine can.

Working with a much simpler palette than usual. I think the character works well, they can be a bit of a nightmare sometimes.

I was imagining this as a cover of note book.  A note book to put your shopping lists in maybe?

An hortensia. I like the simplicity of it although I think it lacks some of the playfulness of my other pieces 

An image of what we in Sweden call "fika". That's basically coffee with something sweet, here a cinnamon bun. If you had visits, the tradition was that you should also serve 7 different kinds of cookies and biscuits and a cake. And you had to taste all of them!

I'm the sort of person who checks if my passport and tickets are all in place about twenty times an hour when I travel.

These trees are the starting point of an upcoming illustration. I like the blue on the best.

I'm happy with both the composition and the colours on this one. Enjoyed working on it as well.

Some new work. As per usual I took away some older stuff from the website. If I'll ever get up to ten it will be a miracle.

More new work, or rather an old idea that I have redone.

New work. Sausage with dill potatoes. Small surprise if you move the cursor over the image (on my  website that is).

Finished two images today. After working with the wacom for a while I regret not buying one earlier, it's great. The downside is that as I'm getting better at using it I start not liking my earlier work so much.

So these two are the only thing on my website at the moment, but since I love using it so much, that should change soon.

I finished an image today of my hometown Karlstad, but I cant make it look good on the blog, so to see it in it's full glory click here... and then "work".

The image became a "front cover" for my website.
I was working on a white background and I thought it could look good. Now as it is finished, I think it does.

I have recently bought a wacom and have mixed feelings about it since I still have problems drawing straight with it. It is pretty difficult actually, looking at the screen as you draw. But I love how easily you can make little details and that you can get these textures that look exactly like pen on paper would, like the shadow under the ball here for example.

This, by the way, is the beginning of a larger drawing that I'll post soonish, hopefully. It is cleaning day today apparently.
