I was recently asked to create this angel above for Mattias and Elin Käll att Popill. It has been used to make this absoluetly lovely promotional piece where they present their illustrators.

I was asked (thank you YCN!) to do a quick turnaround black and white illustration for the New York Times. It is illustrating a piece written by Simon Morrison and is (amongst other things) about how the bolshoi ballet has been a part of the Soviet propaganda machine. It is really interesting and you can read it here!

I got to make two images, one vertical for NY Times International and later a horizontal version for the NY Times (the one above).

It was a really good subject to illustrate, got lots of ideas straight away and it was great to work in black and white, something I don't do very often. I think that it gave the effect of an old photo or film.
